| Case Studies Case studies for Integration and Workstation Retrieval of data and formatting |
Retrieval of data and reformatting. For the case in question, a simple requirement was to retrieve data from an MQ Series queue, reformat it and provide data batched for input into legacy system. By using the TS Integrator, data could be extracted and reformatted simply. This offered a low cost solution that could be quickly integrated. Store and forward to outsourcer. The client is connecting to an outsourcer. However, due to the nature of delivery, certain information was missing or invalid, causing exceptions during the processing by the outsourcer. These were then notified by email to the client, who then needed to instruct the outsourcer manually.
Due to the volume of emails being received, the risk of errors increased. By using TS Integration Server, each message was stored and validated within the server. Errors could either be determined immediately prior to transmission to the client and repaired within the workstation. Successful states returned by the outsourcer were matched with the client's original information sent. Any messages not indicated as successful within a certain time period were alerted to users as possible exceptions, thus providing the client with a single point of repair.
Furthermore additional information such as internal codes could also be provided to the user of workstation.
Although this information could not be sent to the outsourcer, it did allow users to be able to use better search
information when looking for transaction statuses. Workstation therefore provided an enhanced alerting of when transactions had not been dealt with by the Outsourcer in a timely manner, provided a central point of reference, and further allowed improved auditing to take place as to what actions had been taken. Simplified manual input
The client requires a method to send SWIFT messages. However the issue with the normal services offered by
SWIFT alliance is that they require a simplified user interface in order to avoid users needing to have complex
swift knowledge. Also in order to improve auditing, the values that can be added to the SWIFT messages can be
limited and static data be held separately. TS Workstation offers the facilities to provide data entry
via simplified forms. Static data can also be held within the system. Any data entered carries a full audit trail
of when it was entered or modified. Should it be a requirement, the data can be verified or re-keyed by another
user before it can be used. For example, in the above scenario, SWIFT payment messages were to be generated. The client had a limited number of beneficiaries and counterparties with whom transactions could take place. All of these were held within static data. Users only needed to be aware of were the amounts, currencies and parties to be used. The rest of the SWIFT message was created using this information. The client gained from better auditing, search facilities and reduction in staff training. |
